The Founders

HANKEN is the result of a shared passion and vision between Maria Hansen and Pedro Stürken. As lifelong sports enthusiasts, they have always sought to incorporate movement and an active lifestyle into their daily routines, be it on land or sea, boards, mats, or Pilates reformers.

Maria's experience in fashion and product development, combined with her training in Pilates, and Pedro's background in management, sports, and yoga teachings, provided the perfect foundation for the creation of HANKEN in 2020 during the Covid pandemic.

The challenges of being confined to four walls during lockdown inspired Maria and Pedro to encourage creativity and movement, not just in themselves but in others as well. HANKEN was born out of this desire to inspire others to keep moving, even during challenging times.

For Maria and Pedro, HANKEN is more than just a business - it's an extension of who they are and what they believe in. They aim to transfer all the benefits of their own sports and practices into the daily running of the business, ensuring that their passion for movement and a healthy lifestyle is reflected in every aspect of the brand.
